The National Vocational School for Hearing Aid Acousticians and the Academy for Hearing Aid Acoustics are situated on the Audiology Campus in Lübeck (in Northern Germany, on the Baltic coast).
They are in same building complex. The Academy for Hearing Aid Acoustics is the owner of the buildings.
Both institutions work closely together within the framework of local learning co-operation, co-ordinating contents and structures. Constant co-ordination between teachers at the vocational school and lecturers at the academy guarantees that supply of training materials is always fast and unbureaucratically adapted to the state of the art and the latest findings in audiology.
Furthermore, the German Hearing Aids Institute (Deutsches Hörgeräteinstitut) and the office of the examination boards are also situated on the Audiology Campus; the University of Applied Sciences with its special branch of audiology is a direct neighbour.

Responsibilities
The "Deutsches Hörgeräteinstitut" (DHI) is the central examiner for all licensed systems on the German hearing aid market. The institute is independent and headed by a sworn expert. It is an accredited inspection authority for hearing aids/hearing technology for the German, European and global markets.
All institutions on the campus share resources in many respects, such as classrooms, specialised technical equipment and human resources. This leads to a variety of synergies in economic terms as well as in terms of know-how. Staff and students know one another and only have short distances to walk to learn and work together.
